The Holidays at Fish Shop
From Thanksgiving onwards, whether it’s for office parties, festive dinners or New Year’s Eve celebrations, celebrate the holiday season by the water at Fish Shop in Washington DC. If you’re planning an intimate dinner in the restaurant, a group celebration in one of our three private dining rooms, or a full buyout of the entire space, enjoy fresh, ethically sourced seafood and expertly crafted cocktails.

Feast of the Seven Fishes
Throughout December, we’ll be turning our Chef’s Menu into a festive celebration that channels the Italian-American tradition of the Feast of the Seven Fishes. Indulge in a four-course menu – dishes might include Maryland clam linguine, baked Maryland lobster and panettone. Stay tuned for more to come.

Festive Cocktails
Gather your friends, family, or colleagues and raise a glass over the holiday season. Our bar team has crafted festive cocktails to complement the seasonal menus, creating a dining experience that feels both celebratory and personal.
You can also join us for happy hour from Monday to Friday, 3-6pm, and enjoy a pre-dinner apéritif with our Gilded Hour Menu.

New Year’s Eve
Kick off your New Year’s Eve—or as the Scots like to call it, Hogmanay—at Fish Shop. Join us for a celebratory Feast of the Seven Fishes menu, dine from the a la carte, or join us for cocktails before you head out to The Wharf. Whether you’re going to DJ Trixie Mattel at The Anthem, going up to The Pendry or just looking for a leisurely evening by the waterfront wth us, kick off 2027 with a bang!

Discover the Holiday Boat Parade and Party at The Wharf on December 5, when more than 60 beautifully decorated boats sail along the Washington Channel. Landside activities include hot toddies, live music, ornament decorating, holiday karaoke, a signature performance by Yani the Band, family photos with Santa, fireworks, and much more. Book your table for a feast with a view of the fireworks.
Also, visit The Wharf Ice Rink, just a 10-minute walk from Fish Shop — DC’s only over-water ice skating rink.
Holiday Closures
Please note that we will be closed on the following days during the holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
Does Fish Shop have a special Festive Menu?
Yes, from Thanksgiving until the end of December we will have a special festive Chef’s Menu celebrating the tradition of the Feast of the Seven Fishes. This will replace our standard Chef’s Menu during that period and is available every day for dinner.
Can I order from the a la carte?
Yes absolutely, our Feast of the Seven Fishes menu is available for those who would like a celebratory menu, however groups of up to 10 are more than welcome to order from the a la carte menu.
Can I buy a gift card?
Yes – we offer gift cards to be redeemed at Fish Shop for monetary values and special offers which make a great Christmas gift. You can purchase a gift voucher here.
Is Fish Shop available for larger events and exclusive buyouts during the festive period?
Yes Fish Shop has 3 private dining rooms which are available to hire individually and make for the perfect celebratory setting. Will you have festive drinks options?
Yes, we will have a variety of festive drinks throughout the season from hot drinks such as mulled cider to warming whisky-based cocktails and other Fish Shop specialties.

How can I get to Fish Shop?
You’ll find Fish Shop on Water Street Southwest at the Southern end of The Wharf on Water Street. Adjacent to Poetry & Prose and Pluma Bakery and opposite Arena Stage, it’s just a 6 minute walk from the Waterfront Metro Station and moments from many bus stations. There are several public parking garages along The Wharf, including the Atlantic Car Park underneath the building, but public transport is very easy and our recommended route.
